Pomegranate from Gujarat: Growing Supply, Local Trust, and Farm-Level Access
1. A Crop on the Rise
Farmers in our region are rapidly adopting pomegranate cultivation due to strong domestic and export demand. Alongside volume growth, there’s been a rise in on-field grading, sorting, and early handling practices — directly at the orchard.
2. Buyers Coming to the Farms
Traders from Bangladesh, West Bengal, and other Indian states during peak season ( Dec – Apr ) to visit farms here to source directly. This farm access has created real economic uplift and led to the development of 6 active mandi (market) locations in our region.
3. Why Farmers Still Prefer Local Hands
Even with new buyers arriving, farmers prefer dealing with known, local handlers — due to trust, clear understanding, and faster settlements. That trust isn’t built in a day — it’s earned over seasons. And we’re proud to say we’ve had that presence for years.
4. Our Role in the Value Chain
While pomegranate isn’t our primary export yet, our team has consistent access to clean, sorted lots at the farm level, supported by a long-standing reputation in the region. Whether it’s coordinating bulk movement, ensuring on-site inspections, or packaging by buyer specs — we already do that at ground level.
Pomegranate is more than just an emerging crop in our region — it’s a sign of changing trade dynamics, stronger farm practices, and deeper local trust. While we’re not positioning it as our flagship export, we are well-connected, active on the ground, and ready to serve buyers who value clarity, consistency, and honest sourcing.
